At a grocery store you don't need to distinguish, you can just say "can you show me where i can find ketchup?" And they'd take you there.

I usually just ask "Where can I find a thing of eggs?" or "Where are the eggs?"

By the way, if you can't remember the word for it, use "thing". It sounds natural when used.

You mean, we can say "where can I find a thing of〜" about anything?

Yeah. Let's face it, not even the natives want to have to remember all those words. Although, you probably should remember the basic ones. It's kind of like with counting suffixes in Japanese.

Mayusorami, you don't actually need to do any of that. English does not have counters like in Japanese. I NEVER say "bottle of ketchup", I just say ketchup. You only need to say it when you have to distinguish between what version of the product you want.
