Ughhh.. Rules in English so strange.. Why we use past simple here: "Paul and Pola arived 5 minuted ago", if time here is about now, and it's like a new information for us, fact. I don't say "They arived one day ago". It's the past tence. It's not inetesting for us. But 5 minutes ago...
