Does it make sense to say "I've gotten as much thank you as sorry from you"?
Does this sentence sound neutral and natural to you? How would you say it? How would you respond to it?

@Pumpk-a-boo I think your trying to say that this person says sorry as often as they say thank you to you ?
To be honest it doesn’t sound very natural in English and is a little confusing
It’s sounding like your telling the person your speaking with that they are inconsistent

@Pumpk-a-boo inconsistent means some thing that is unpredictable
They’re nice one one day than mean the next
There’s no pattern for example “the weather in Melbourne is inconsistent, it could rain at anytime”

@Pumpk-a-boo you could say that, If someone is saying sorry it’s generally for poor behaviour

@Leeah_Foxington btw, I suppose it's bad or mean to call someone inconsistent?😅
Despite it being true?

@Pumpk-a-boo I wouldn’t say it was rude or mean but they might not like it
If it’s true though then it’s not an insult

@Pumpk-a-boo I think you’re trying to say: “i haven’t gotten so much as a thank you, let alone a sorry from you.”
It is a complaint, that the person is ungrateful and unremorseful.
My response would be: “That’s right! I don’t care about what you did for me, and I’m not sorry!” Or “Sorry. I actually really appreciate all of your hard work.”
I don’t think you can ask for a “sorry” and a “thank you” while remaining neutral. Either you deserve a sorry and thank you, or you do not…if you have to ask for it, then it means that the person has irritated you by not saying it first. If you’re not irritated, then aside from teaching a child good manners, then you wouldn’t even mention it.

@Chook15 Thank you! I meant to say as many as* , not haven't gotten
Like, someone who says thanks and sorry a lot.
I meant to say, you don't have to say them that often
