@Ada92 In English it goes like "you made your bed now you will lie on it" i.e. you got to face the consequences of your deeds. In Arabic, it means literally your hands have linked and your mouth has inflated the goatskin (used to cross the river).

@fairouzahlem I can't truly say that I understood the "your hands have linked and your mouth has inflated the goatskin (used to cross the river)" idiom. (I think it's an idiom in Arabic, right?) espically the connection between "infilating a goatskin" and "crossing the river".

Well... mostly idioms are based on a story in their own language and it's sometimes related to culture, we have really complicated idoms too that are really hard to translate into other languages so please don't expect me to fully understand it but maybe you'd tell me the story of it asumming it's an idiom or you can give me an explanation about the connection between them however <<you got to face the consequences of your deeds.>> By going over this explanation, I can say the Turkish expression which means exaclty this. We say "Kendi düşen ağlamaz" to mean "you got to face the consequences of your deeds".

@Ada92 thank you so much. Yes "kendi düşen ağlamaz" fits so well!!
As of the story behind that idiom, yes it's an Arabic one. It's about someone who wanted to cross the river at the time they were using inflated goatskins. People told him that his wasn't well tied neither well inflated, he didn't listen. So in the middle of the river, the goatskin started to deflate and the guy was about to drown, he looked around and asked for help, they responded with that sentence and it went like an idiom.
