There has been a lot of public discussion on whether or not enough public funds are invented in social welfare. I do not believe enough public funds are used for social welfare for the following reasons.
First, the number of care staff are not enough. Nowadays, people are facing super aging society, which means there are many people who need help. On the other hand, it is often said that young people do not tend to work as a care staff since the salary is insufficient. In order to solve this problem, governments have to give more subsidy to nursing care companies.
Second, the child care allowance is also not enough. Generally speaking, it is difficult for parents to raise up their children because taking care of children is really expensive. Although governments tend to use public funds into unnecessary public construction, one of the most important things they have to do is supporting young parents who want to have their child by giving them sufficient child care allowance.
