So basically it means that the person saying this doesn’t want to have sex because they are afraid of it.

Saying "my sexuality" is another way to talk about your sexual identity. Any way that you choose to interact with sex and being sexual is a part of your sexuality. The author is saying that because people looked at them sexually as a child, they weren't able to fully develop the ability to be sexual as an adult because they didn't feel safe expressing that sexuality. It doesn't necessarily mean that they don't have anything to do with sex, but that their experiences with it were negative impacted by their fear.
