C: "I don't want to walk any more. I'm super tired now. I'm almost vomiting. Why don't we take a break?"
Hello! Do you think the sentences above sound natural? Thank you.
A:
B is the only correct one, but people usually say "throw up" instead of "vomit". "I am about to throw up" is pretty strong though. If I were really about to throw up I would just say "I have to stop, I'm about to throw up." Maybe "I'm feeling a bit nauseous" is what you mean.
Q:
it's common to use "bring up" as "vomit" (vomitar em português)? And this phrasal verb is informal?
A:
I haven't really heard "bring up" used in that way. The closest I can think of that I've heard is
"The sight brought the taste of vomit to my mouth"
But that's about it. Usually, from what I've heard, "to bring up" is used more when referring to abstract concepts, like a topic of conversation, or past events.
"I hate to bring this up, but..."
But of course, there are occasional exceptions where it's used to refer to a physical action
"He brought the cake up the stairs."
Note that it's often more natural to put the object being "brought up" before the "up" in the sentence.
Hope this helps! : )
