I think most native English speakers would use taste for the verb, “I did not taste the coffee yet” or to talk about something that people like/dislike: “I don’t hate rap music, but it’s not really my taste”. Flavor is better if you are talking about food, etc. “cappuccino has a very interesting flavor”.
