A: Yes, in most U.S. states people are mainly protesting stay-at-home orders for economic reasons, but there are some others as well (personal freedom, etc.). I think that most Americans understand that it's safest to continue social distancing but there are a lot of challenges that brings as well. The unemployment rate is significantly increasing each week and the government has not been able to provide adequate benefits for people who cannot work or businesses that are forced to be closed. Most Americans don't have enough savings to continue paying their living expenses if they are not able to work, so people who are not able to work might see this as a trade-off between continuing social distancing but not being able to afford rent or food and reopening and facing the risk of getting the virus, which they would *most likely* survive. Even though I agree that we should continue social distancing to protect ourselves and our neighbors, not everyone else does, especially if it means that they might become homeless or have nothing to eat. The biggest problem is that the federal government has not adequately responded to the crisis, by failing to provide adequate testing and assistance to those who have lost their jobs because of social distancing. I'm interested to hear what Korean people think about this as well because Korea has handled the pandemic much more successfully than the United States. What do you think about this?
