A: Above-mentioned (not always hyphenated) is good English and is still regularly used in letters, articles or notes when referring to something already referred to or outlined earlier in the piece. By its meaning, of course, it makes no sense when speaking.
However, when speaking we could say “aforementioned” which simply refers back to something previously said. It can also be used in written pieces, as mentioned above.
I suspect that the younger generation may prefer to use other ways to express themselves ordinarily.
However, whilst these words may look a little cumbersome, they do the job of whole phrases, such :”as I mentioned before” or “as described above/a little earlier”.
